In all honesty, Laura wishes there were another word for what she does. The coaching field is chock-a-block with people who take a course, hang out a shingle, and promise the world. It skews toward the exploitative, can resemble a pyramid scheme, and often values the happiness of the individual over any awareness of the common good.
What Laura offers is different. She recognises that we live in an unjust world, and that most of us want to find a means of navigating it that allows us to feel a sense of ease and alignment while we also, somehow, help make things better. As one ancient teaching puts it: it is not our responsibility to complete the task, but neither are we free to desist from it. But how?
How do we each know which tasks to take on? Which are the best fit for our unique skills, inclinations, conditions, dreams? How do we make things better — for ourselves, our communities, our planet? How do we find balance, and how do we sustain it?
These questions are at the heart of the values-driven coaching Laura offers. All good coaches help you articulate what you want to be different in your life, offer you what you need to make it happen, and support you through the process. Laura does this too, but with the awareness that it is not all about you. If you live your life in alignment — if you create space for authenticity and joy — then you can be a greater force for good in this topsy-turvy world we live in, in so much need of love and repair.
